Five died on Friday evening in a tragic road accident in Tarif area of the Western Region in Abu Dhabi after one of the tyres of their Land Cruiser burst and the vehicle overturned more than ten times. Police sources confirmed the incident. The relatives of the victims said that none of the young Emiratis in the vehicle survived the accident.

A toddler has died after falling into a bucket of water at her home in Al Oraibi, Ras Al Khaimah. The incident took place on Thursday. The 18-month old Hanin was rushed to the Saqr hospital. She was admitted to the intensive care unit but on Friday morning doctors pronounced her dead.

Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati woman is in shock after finding her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter dead on the back seat of her car on Tuesday afternoon. The two had returned from Dubai when the mother left Shamma playing with her toy in the car as she quickly went into their house to pick something up. When she returned, she found her motionless daughter. The woman drove from southern Al Dhait to Saqr Hospital with her daughter laying on the back seat.

A man kidnapped and assaulted the boyfriend of the woman he loved, a court heard. The man, and five accomplices went on trial yesterday at Dubai Court of First Instance. One defendant, was also charged with posing as a policeman. The 25-year-old victim was in his flat in the Hor Al-Zanz area of Dubai when one of the defendants came to him, said he was a policeman and asked him to leave the flat, police reports said. He was shoved in a car, gagged, assaulted and locked up in Ras Al Khaimah. They then handed him over to the authorities because he was in the country illegally, the police said. The defendants have pleaded not guilty and the case has been adjourned.

Ras Al Khaimah: A 10-year-old boy found a man's body hanging from the ceiling of a house while playing in his neighbourhood. The Emirati boy informed his father of the incident who called in the police. The body of the Indian national was found in his house located near his work place in the Suhailah area here. The 47-year-old labourer was officially pronounced dead after a police team and forensic experts arrived at the scene and examined the body. The body is kept at the police morgue for investigation. Lieutenant Colonel Ya'aqoub Al Haddad, Chief of Al Digdaga police station. said the Police Operations Room received a report from an Emirati on finding the body hanging by a rope.
