A man was found dead in his car in the Al Butaina area of Sharjah early on Tuesday. Police suspect homicide. Police said a man in his early 60s was found dead in his four-wheel drive vehicle at around 6am. Passers-by on their way to work spotted him. "The passers-by told Al Hira Police Station," the police official said. "He was found with a bloated body. Experts at the forensic laboratory are conducting an autopsy to find out the reason behind the death," he said.

A 21-year-old man fell four floors to his death in Ajman when the cable he used to rappel down from the terrace to his girlfriend’s balcony snapped. An officer at the Al Madina police station said the incident happened early Friday morning. “The deceased, who was drunk, fell when he tried to climb into his Russian girlfriend‘s balcony on the fourth floor using a TV cable,” he said.

A police officer, a police cadet and an immigration official are among five UAE nationals arrested for drug possession, a source in Dubai Public Prosecution told Khaleej Times. The Dubai Police Anti–Narcotic Department had been tipped off that a group of Emiratis were regularly using drugs in a police officer’s house. Police also seized 40 grams of hashish during the night-time raid on the house last week. The five arrested were referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution on Sunday.

A two-year-old girl died after her parents forgot her inside their car at midday in the summer heat, police said on Sunday. she died in her parents' car on Saturday after she was left behind near their home. The girl was taken to the Royal Hospital. She was already dead when she reached the hospital. The case is being investigated by Al Garb police station.

An Indian grocer who was found wounded and bleeding at his shop in Tourist Club Area here on Friday afternoon, died at a hospital later, police and a close friend of the deceased told Gulf News. The victim, 38, was from Kasargode district in Kerala, said the friend, who did not wish to be identified. Police said they have taken three people into custody for questioning: a delivery man and two friends of the victim. The motive of the murder seems to be a dispute over money, police said.

Five died on Friday evening in a tragic road accident in Tarif area of the Western Region in Abu Dhabi after one of the tyres of their Land Cruiser burst and the vehicle overturned more than ten times. Police sources confirmed the incident. The relatives of the victims said that none of the young Emiratis in the vehicle survived the accident.

Four people were treated for smoke inhalation and shortness of breath after a massive fire broke out in a labour accommodation in Al Hili Industrial area in Al Ain on Saturday. The fire gutted 40 caravans that include 80 rooms accommodating 640 workers. Al Ain Police Operation Room received a call and rushed to the scene immediately.

Police have discovered a suitcase containing hashish.Colonel Maktoum Al Sheriefi, the director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said they arrested a suspect in Al Shahama. Lt Colonel Sultan Sawayeh Al Darmeki, the head of the Anti Narcotics Section of CID, added that they received a tip off that the 32-year-old had the hashish and came to Abu Dhabi to sell the drugs. The squad arrested the suspect, who works as a taxi controller, and found the drugs in his suitcase in the back seat of his car. They found 11 pieces of hashish marked with the phrase ‘Beauty of 2008’.

A businessman embezzled dhs660,000 from a partner after agreeing to open a business for him in Dubai. The man, who has now been jailed for a year after being sentenced for theft at Dubai Court of First Instance. The court heard the 28-year-old defendant had stolen electronic goods from his partner.However, a co-defendant, has been found not guilty of the same charge.

A plastic surgeon has been jailed for negligence over a liposuction operation. The 61-year-old surgeon and a 55-year-old anaesthetist have both been sentenced to a year in prison along with a fine of dhs10,000 and deportation in connection with the incident. Dubai Court of misdemeanours was told that they operated on a 27-year-old housewife. The woman died after undergoing surgery.
